Walk while working...why didn't I think of that??
Professor James Levine and Jennifer Miller of the Mayo Clinic have created a vertical workstation....what an idea! Walk while you work and burn away the pounds (hmm...do I have the balance and/or ability to walk & type at the same time...I can't even do the rub your stomach while tapping your head trick!). Being a Realtor, I'm often out and about...showing houses, etc., but some days it seems I'm planted in my office chair all day, and it does get tiresome on the backside, if you know what I mean. I find myself getting up and walking around to get the blood flowing again, and often it takes me a few minutes to get my concentration back when I sit back down. Maybe walking on a treadmill while working at my computer is the answer...honestly, I'd be interested in giving it a try. The desk is designed to slide over a traditional treadmill, and has two arms...one that supports the monitor and the other that supports the keyboard and mouse. One article I read quoted the price as being $1,600, offered through Stealcase, and another article stated the price as $2,500. That's a pretty good chunk of change....maybe I'll try to rig something up myself...how difficult could it be??
